UPPER LAKE — Katlyn Minnis of the Upper Lake High School varsity girls basketball team has been named to the 2019 All-North Central League II second team as recently selected by the league’s coaches.

Upper Lake finished 2-7 in league play and 9-16 overall.

Minnis, a senior, was one of two Upper Lake players honored on the All-League team. The other was junior Alana Sanchez, who received an honorable mention.

Caroline Chambers of league champion Rincon Valley Christian was honored as the league’s most valuable player. She was joined on the first team by her sister, Elizabeth Chambers.

Other first-team selections were Katrina Yardley and Julia Anderson of Credo, Jocelyn Jimenez of Roseland University Prep, and Isabel Sartori of Tomales.

The league will have a new champion next season as Rincon Valley Christian,, a longtime power in both girls and boys basketball, is closing its doors at the end of the current school year for financial reasons.
