KELSEYVILLE — Weather permitting, Kelseyville High School’s varsity baseball team is scheduled to host a split doubleheader on Saturday at Lloyd Larson Field.

While rain is in the forecast for Saturday, the Knights are scheduled to play McKinleyville at 9 a.m. followed by a second game featuring Clear Lake against McKinleyville at noon.

Additionally the Knights will host McKinleyville on Friday at 3:30 p.m.

Inclement weather the last two weeks has forced the county’s spring sports teams to postpone or cancel games the last two weeks. The weather outlook for the coming week is much more favorable with only scattered showers forecast on Tuesday.

Friday’s high school sports schedule also includes Middletown at Ferndale and Esparto at Upper Lake in varsity baseball action as well as Fortuna at Middletown and Esparto at Upper Lake in softball action.

Other scheduled Saturday games have Middletown at St. Bernard (Eureka) in varsity baseball action and Kelseyville at Fort Bragg in softball action. Lower Lake’s and Middletown’s track teams are also scheduled to compete Saturday — Lower Lake at the Bob Hastings Classic in Oroville and Middletown at the North Coast Extravaganza in Santa Rosa (Montgomery High School).

See www.record-bee.com (local scoreboard) for a complete listing of high school sporting events.

County coaches are welcome to report scores and statistics to the Record-Bee sports desk at 900-2018.
