HIDDEN VALLEY LAKE — In a Coastal Mountain Conference tennis match cut short because of rain, the visiting Kelseyville Knights defeated the Middletown Mustangs 3-1 on Thursday afternoon at the Hidden Valley Lake courts.

The second doubles match between Kelseyville’s Kian Naamipouran and Hanna Scully and Middletown’s Stacey Tablit and Daniella Ferrari was stopped in the first set with Naamipouran and Scully leading 2-1.

The other four matches were completed before the rain started to fall. In singles action, Kelseyville’s Bodhi Baird beat Ale Diaz 6-0, 6-2 in second singles while Kelseyville’s Allison Bryant scored a 6-0, 6-2 win over Haylee Sust in third singles. Middletown’s Solomon Malicay beat Justin Perez 6-1, 6-1 in first singles.

In first doubles, Dylan Vargas and Connor Molloy of Kelseyville beat Abbey Brown and Emily Santiago 6-2, 7-6 (7-3).

Both teams hosted matches on Friday. The Knights went up against Cloverdale while the Mustangs took on CMC defending champion St. Helena. Middletown travels to Cloverdale Tuesday while Kelseyville has a bye.
