LAKE COUNTY — Spring is just around the corner and so is the Sons in Retirement (SIRs) golf season, which teed off Wednesday with a scramble tournament in Arbuckle.
Eighteen SIRs tournaments are scheduled through the end of October at 11 different venues, including Colusa, Wild Wings, Hidden Valley Lake, Foxtail, Carson City, Vintners, Healdsburg, Windsor, Monterey and Teal Bend.
The April-May schedule, besides the season opener on Wednesday at Arbuckle, includes trips to Colusa on April 17, to Wild Wings on May 1, to Hidden Valley Lake on May 15, and to Foxtail on May 29.
During the months of June and July, SIRs will visit Carson City on June 11-13, Hidden Valley Lake on June 26, Vintners on July 10, Hidden Valley Lake on July 17 and Healdsburg on July 24.
In August-September, SIRs golfers head to Windsor on Aug. 7, to Colusa on Aug. 21, to Arbuckle on Sept. 4, to Vintners on Sept. 18, and to Monterey on Sept. 24-26.
The season wraps up in October with stops at Teal Bend on Oct. 2, Colusa on Oct. 16, and Hidden Valley Lake on Oct. 30.
