UPPER LAKE— April 11 is the date of the next Soroptimist evening social. Held every other month by the Soroptimist International of Clear Lake Club, the social will be at the Senior Support Services building located on 9410 Mendenhall in Upper Lake from 6 – 6:45 pm.
Anyone interested in learning how the Club supports Lake County’s women and girls is encouraged to drop in for conversation with Soroptimist members over drinks and appetizers. There is no charge to attend but please R.S.V.P by April 10 at 707-998-1302.
“Following the social we will hold a short business meeting,” said Club President Ami Landrum. “Guests are more than welcome to stay on while we conduct a little business if they wish,” she said.
Since deciding to host the socials around the lake the Clear Lake club has met in Kelseyville and Lakeport.
At the last social, held in the tasting room of Don Angel Cellars in Lakeport, guests and members enjoyed appetizers by Fresh and Bangin’ and wines by Don Angel Cellars.
“It was a lovely venue and highly successful,” said Landrum. “We’re finding the meeting times and locations are drawing more women to the Club. Whether or not they join, the relationships we are building are important to us – and to those who need our help,” said Landrum.
President Elect Tina Scott agreed. “These socials are an opportunity to interact with like minded individuals who make it a personal priority to empower Lake County women to achieve their full potential,” she said.
Soroptimist International of Clear Lake is a volunteer organization dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. The Club continues their noontime meetings in Clearlake at Howard’s Grotto on even numbered months.
