LAKEPORT — Gary Collins and John Pearl of Upper Lake ran away with first place on Saturday afternoon during an American Bass team tournament on Clear Lake.
Konocti Vista Casino, Resort and Marina near Lakeport served as tournament headquarters.
Collins and Pearl brought a five-fish limit to the weigh scale during the one-day tournament for a winning weight of 30.93 pounds. Their catch was topped by a 8.07-pound fish.
The tournament field consisted of 24 teams and nearly every one brought a limit to the weigh scale on a warm spring day.
Collins and Pearl received a first-place check of $2,273.
American Bass visits Clear Lake again on Sept. 7 and Oct. 19. Tournament headquarters for both events is the Konocti Vista Casino, Resort and Marina.
American Bass holds tournaments throughout the western United States.
