
HIDDEN VALLEY LAKE — Teresa Sands earned captain of the month honors while Deby Braun won putter of the month honors during recent 18-hole women’s golf club action at Hidden Valley Lake Golf Course.
Sands won the first flight, Frances Bunce came in second, and Linda McAllister and Barbara Harris tied for third place.
Trudy Hill won the second flight, Suzie Sullivan was the runner-up, and April Hardin came in third.
In 40-9ers club action last week, Mariana Bendinelli, Sharon Compartore and Julie Yamashita teamed up to win a club scramble. Second place went to the trio of Adele Curtin, Rebecca Cabral and Linda Millard.
Beef BBQ is May 26
UPPER LAKE — The 29th annual Harville Beef Barbecue, the annual fundraiser for Upper Lake High School athletics, takes place May 26 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Boathouse Bar & Grill in Nice.
The cost to attend is $15 for adults and $8 for children younger than 12.
The event is sponsored by The Boathouse Bar & Grill.
There will be a raffle for many prizes organized by the Upper Lake High School Boosters Club. Tickets are $5 each and the drawing will be held that day. You need not be present to win.
KHS alumni baseball
KELSEYVILLE — The annual Kelseyville High School alumni baseball game is set for May 4 at Lloyd Larson Field in Kelseyville.
The sign-up fee is $25. Batting practice begins at 10:30 a.m. and the game follows with a noon first pitch.

Junior Giants sign-ups
LAKE COUNTY — Junior Giants summer baseball and softball leagues are now forming for boys and girls ages 5-16.
Presented by the Lake County Sheriff’s Activities League, Junior Giants is a non-competitive league that stresses confidence, integrity, leadership and teamwork. There is no fee to join. You must be 5 years old by July 1 to participate.
There are two ways to sign up for Junior Giants. You can either register at gojrgiants.org or sign-up in person May 11 or May 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kelseyville Fire Department, 420 Main St., in Kelseyville.
The league starts in mid-June.
