Terrace Middle School launched a co-ed soccer team last month that will play an abbreviated nine-game schedule in its first year of existence. The team has a roster of 17 players and is led by head coach Anthony Duncan and assistant Mark Hopkins, the former Clear Lake High School varsity boys head coach. Team members include eighth-graders Nancy Ruzicka, Mikayla Fifield, Rodolfo Arias, Pedro Post, Vicente Ortega, Victor Ortega, Dorian Chavez and Gonzalo Yanez; seventh-graders Hannah Garrity, Darian Loans Arrow, Raul Lau Reyes, Carlos Mendez, Edgar Vasquez and Enrique Hernandez; and sixth-graders Tori Tropf, Quincy Paarsch and Jace Beard. The team’s next game is Thursday at Eagle Peak Middle School in Redwood Valley. The team’s next home game is May 7 against Upper Lake at 4 p.m. (Photos by Brian Sumpter – Record-Bee)
