A total of exactly $2,000 was raised during the March 30 Tango Mike Golf Benefit at Buckingham Golf and Country Club. Every dollar raised went to Operation Tango Mike, a local nonprofit founded by Ginny Craven that sends support packages to military personnel serving overseas. The benefit event was the brainchild of Clear Lake High School Senior Jaden Bussard with the help of Buckingham PGA Golf Professionals Ted Mattila and Mark Wotherspoon. Bussard used his idea to serve as his Senior Project as well as his 4-H All Star Project. There were many sponsors that were instrumental for the success of the event, including 4-H of Lake County, Buckingham GCC, Steele Winery, Wildhurst Winery, Lakeport of Safeway, Konocti Realty, Lake County Woodcrafters, Dr. Dave Browning, Susie Q’s Donuts, Morgan’s Barber Shop, Rep. Mike Thompson, Beau Pre GC, Redwood Empire GCC and many volunteers.
