An athletically gifted freshman class is about to enter Upper Lake High School and one of its members is Maddy Young (soccer, basketball, softball/track). Young took part in a voluntary soccer team workout Wednesday evening and she also joined the football team to participate in the 40-yard dash. “Very talented and deep,” Upper Lake basketball coach Mike Smith said of the school’s incoming freshmen. “They will be a strong presence in every sport.” (Photos by Brian Sumpter)
