Monthly art classes with wine at Lake County Wine Studio

Lake County Wine Studio (LCWS) is presenting monthly art classes with wine, co-hosted with artist Anna Sabalone.  This month’s wine and art session with Sabalone is scheduled for the 21st and will feature a scene of cacti painted in watercolors and chalk pastels.  The session time is 1:30 to 4 p.m.

The class fee of $40 covers all of the provided art supplies needed along with step-by-step guidance and a glass of Lake County wine.  Reservations are required for each month’s class as participation is limited to 12 people.

Sabalone was born and raised in Lake County.  She has been involved in the Lake County Arts Council since her teen years.  She attended the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) and the University of Leeds, England for her undergraduate degree in English, history and anthropology.  She earned her teaching credential and Masters of Education from UCSB and has been teaching art, English, history and academic decathlon at Upper Lake High School since 2008.

4-H youth to speak at Middletown Luncheon Club Wednesday

It’s time for the annual appearance of Karen Jones and her bunch of 4-H youth. Come support our local youth with your presence as they talk about their animal projects for the 2019 Lake County Fair.

Lunch will be served by the members of Middletown’s 4-H Club on Wednesday, July 17, at noon at the Middletown Senior Center, 21256 Washington Street.  The program will end promptly at 1 p.m.  For only $5 per person, enjoy a meal of baked chicken, caesar salad, and cantaloupe. You may also just come and listen to the speaker for free. Everyone is welcome!

Lake County Republican Party hosting Matt Nelson on July 24

The Lake County Republican Party is excited to have Matt Nelson Candidate for Assembly District 4 on July 24 at 5:30 P.M. Redbud Library. 14785 Burns Valley Road, Clearlake CA from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Matt was raised in Redwood Valley and is married to his wife Jennifer. They have a daughter named Lila and they currently live in Lower Lake. Matt is well known in the community for his volunteering during all the fires Lake County has endured. In 2018 he started the Lake County Disaster Alliance response team. They are a 501C3 and work with the Red Cross, Salvation Army and soon with the Department of Social Services.

His dedication to this community during disasters has been unwavering throughout the years. He sees the difficulties that people face along with wanting to do more for them. That is why is he taking his service to the next level and has thrown his hat in to run for Assembly. He asks what has our State representative done for you? He is pro-police, pro-veteran and we all known he is pro-community.
