UPPER LAKE — The second annual Tyler Duncan Memorial Soccer Tournament takes place Aug. 22-24 at Upper Lake High School with six-team varsity boys and varsity girls divisions that feature all of Lake County’s teams.

In addition to county schools Clear Lake, Kelseyville, Lower Lake, Middletown and Upper Lake, Potter Valley will round out the boys field while St. Bernard of Eureka rounds out the girls field. All teams are guaranteed three games during the three-day competition, with games taking place on both the high school and practice fields.

Each team plays two pool games to determine the pairings for the final three games on Aug. 24 in both the boys and girls brackets. Four games (two boys and two girls) take place on both Aug. 22 and Aug. 23. Ten games (five boys and five girls) are scheduled for Aug. 24.

Games will consist of two 35-minute halves with a 10-minute halftime.

The tournament honors the memory of 2011 Upper Lake High School graduate Tyler Duncan, who died in 2017. Tyler’s mom Valerie is a longtime teacher at Upper Lake Middle School.

The Aug. 22 schedule has Lower Lake vs. Middletown (3 p.m.) and Upper Lake vs. Kelseyville (6 p.m.) in the girls division and Kelseyville vs. Lower Lake (4:30 p.m.) and Upper Lake vs. Potter Valley (7 p.m.) in the boys division. The Aug. 23 schedule has St. Bernard vs. Lower Lake (3 p.m.) and Upper Lake vs. Clear Lake (7:30 p.m.) in the girls division and Lower Lake vs. Middletown (4:30 p.m.) and Upper Lake vs. Clear Lake (6 p.m.) in the boys division. On Aug. 24, the final day of the tournament, the final pool games have Clear Lake vs. Kelseyville (10 a.m.) and Middletown vs. St. Bernard (11:30 a.m.) in the girls division and Clear Lake vs. Potter Valley (10 a.m.) and Middletown vs. Kelseyville (11:30 a.m.) in the boys division. The last three games of the day in each division will be based on pool standings.

Entry into the tournament is $5 for adults and $3 for children. A full snack bar is available.
