Gov. Newsom New Shooting Policy

Our Governor just signed a new law regarding law enforcement’s use-of-force. Now he wants our officers to try talking to the subject, the use of less than lethal weapons and other techniques. Obviously he has never worked in law enforcement so he has no idea what is taking place in those highly critical and stressful situations. Now, as a Governor when he has a highly critical item that needs his signature he can talk to his team and get their input and figure which way he wants to go, no problem. Now, take an officer who arrives on a family dispute call (one of the most deadliest calls they can go on).

The officer gets out of his radio car, walks up the walkway, the front door opens a man stands there with firearm pointed at the officer and boom, the officer falls to the ground dead. Did he have time to negotiate with the subject. Could he have used a less than leathal weapon?

Remember a taser only fires so far while the subject’s bullet he just fired can travel up to a mile. In situations where you have a subject who pulls a weapon on you, you have nano seconds to respond. You don’t have time to talk him down. You can’t call a time out to figure a way you need to go or to confer with your subject and lay down the ground rules.  At least you can talk to him and try to diffuse the situation.

Governor Newsom has never been in uniform and worked the streets of San Francisco, Oakland or Los Angeles. Put him n a radio car for a few days and see what it is really like on the streets. No officer wants to take a life, it’s not a subject taken lightly.

Stories of our times

I want to pass along two very interesting stories told to me today by a Napa County friend.

First, she told me about a woman she had worked with about four years ago. At that time, the woman, with some friends, was planning a trip to San Diego where they would pick up some newly arrived illegal immigrants and bring them north and train them in how they could get the free stuff that is available if they do this and this and that. The free stuff to which she was referring at that time was free cheese, food from food banks, free lunches and dinners at many local churches, free food card and etc.

The good news story this same lady told me is that she recently worked in the Republican booth at the Napa County Fair and a smiling Hispanic lady told her that she loved Trump and that they work! Yes, and “they work” was said with an explanation mark. She and her family like Trump’s economy. It is working. There are wonderful people doing things the right way.

How long are citizens, and those that call themselves politicians, going to permit the use of taxpayers dollars for handouts to illegals? We are a land of laws, but we see too many flaunting them.

U.S. citizens must see the light and take action against illegal immigration for many reasons. The dollar cost, plus crime, drugs and disease that is coming in.Taxpayers are being taken for a ride. Wake up California! Wake up America!

Right now we are watching a socialist movement trying to take over our country. We can become a socialist country or we can stand up and take America back and be the Judeo/Christian country envisioned by the signers of our Declaration of Independence or die a socialist death.

It is time to make a choice.

Rasing taxes has to be a very big necessity.

I was reading in the paper that our board will raise our tax for the North Shore Fire District.  That is a brilliant idea; I’m behind that 100%; but raising taxes has to be a very big necessity.  When we raise taxes first thing we must do is figure out how to pay for that.

At the same time we need to come up with a plan to give our Sheriff’s department more money.  They need help financially and if someone was shooting you, you would call the Sheriff’s department, because if you called the fire department you would get hosed.

While you are sitting in your board chair and look around and meditate and here are some of the things you should be thinking about…South Main Street Lakeport belongs to the County of Lake…the County of Lake over the past two years has spent around 1 million and a quarter dollars putting their plan together and at this time right before our eyes. the City of Lakeport is in the process of trying to steal South Main Street for themselves and at lease a million and a quarter of property tax and close to that in sales tax.  The County chooses to ignore all of that, you have to remember the transfer station is in the County of Lake and if the City annex goes through, what is the County going to do with its garbage?

The City is about to steal all of this out of your hands, because the board is asleep at the switch.  Because right now the City is in the process of moving south, they are out there doing inspections, and talking to property owners and renters and if the County doesn’t wake up the City might steal all of this from our supervisors like taking candy from a baby.  I’m not sure whether Tina Scott is for the County or for the City, because she lives in the City limits and represents the City in her District 4. I would sure like to hear from her because she is a City of Lakeport resident.

As usual I appreciate our Board of Supervisors stepping up to the plate, because they could have a major discussion with her prior to a big discussion with the City and the County, which will be coming up in the very near future.
