South Main Street
By now everyone on South Main Street knows about the annexing the City of Lakeport is pushing and are 99% against with one person who is not part of the rest. That one person is the theatre owner who is crying that he needs water…we needed water too so we dug a well.
It started out many years ago as a drive in theatre, and he is the only one that wants the City of Lakeport to come out there. The theatre owner who built the theatre after everyone else was established there. So therefore it’s him against the rest of us, he is the only one that would like to have the city out there. So therefore, to be honest and fair, if he is not one of us we can’t be one of him.
So at this time I think all of South Main Street should boycott the theatre because he is not on our side. You never never boycott your enemies, but this time there is no choice. So I urge everyone and their family and friends to totally boycott our local theatre that came after everyone else.
Fair thinking by fair people, it’s us and not him.
Not for City of Lakeport annexing. The people that are there now. He should move his theatre to the city and not force everyone to think like him.

Conspiracy nuts need cracking
Experts say half of Americans believe in conspiracy theories, far more than other countries. According to Anna Merlan in “Republic of Lies,” U.S. conspiracy theories (many initiated by Trump) are dangerous because they sow distrust and divide the citizenry- When people embrace theories they can never prove, they destroy rational thought, the foundation of democracy. By definition, conspirancy theories are false beliefs according to psychologist Douglas Sutton in “Psychological Science.” These beliefs are associated with lower levels of education and analytic thinking so says “Psychology Today.” Trump has fabricated over two dozen whoppers. Note a mere sampling: Liberals want to get rid of white people and destroy democracy, Hillary heads a pedophilia ring; Obama was born in Africa; The Clintons killed Jeffery Epstein, The Democrat “Deep State” wants to destroy America, Bill Clinton killed aide Vince Foster; Childhood vaccines cause autism; Windmills cause cancer; Climate change is a hoax; Most Latino immigrants are rapists and killers; Abestos danger is a myth; etc. etc, etc. Fear! Fear! Hate!

Ironic?
I find it a bit ironic that the same people who decry the increase in “people of color” in these United States, also spend millions of dollars annually on products and procedures to darken their own skin.
