
Firefighters were toned out Wednesday afternoon in response to various active wildland fires. A blaze on Manning Flat on Highway 29 and one at Diener Drive burned into the Rock Quarry. Before the day was out, personnel totaling 172 emergency responders including three helicopters, four water tenders, four air tankers from various agencies including Cal Fire, Lake County Protection District and the California Highway Patrol had all but containted the “Glass fire” incident which consisted of at least seven individual fires in the area between Kelseyville and Lower Lake and helped with the flow of traffic during a period which also included a traffic collision at Highway 29 and Kits corner.
