ST. HELENA — Undefeated in its first four games, the Lower Lake High School boys soccer team dropped a 6-0 North Central League I contest to the St. Helena Saints on Thursday in St. Helena.

Lower Lake (1-1 league, 3-1-1 overall) couldn’t match St. Helena’s speed on the Saints’ artificial playing surface.

“They had some really fast forwards and they passed the ball well and sprinted right past our defense,” Lower Lake coach Paul Krohn said. “They put a lot of pressure on us.”

St. Helena had a 4-0 lead by halftime.

Lower Lake did have its scoring opportunities but couldn’t find the net.

“We should have had three on the board,” Krohn said. “I think my guys got nervous or something.”

The Trojans are home twice next week. They host Willits on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. and Kelseyville on Friday at 4 p.m.

In other boys soccer action Thursday:
