KELSEYVILLE
United Methodist Church offering evening service
Looking for an alternative worship service? Kelseyville United Methodist Church is offering, in addition to the 9 a.m. Sunday Morning Worship, a 6:30 p.m. evening service. Join us each Sunday for our meditative 6:30 Celtic service. Drawn from the liturgical traditions of Iona and Northumbria, this service combines meditative silence and music, simplicity of utterance, and faithful commitment of care for the earth. This way of prayer, of opening oneself to God’s love, God’s forgiveness, and God’s hope – to the fullness of God’s presence in our lives – is hundreds of years old but speaks with immediacy to the yearning of our hearts now. The service includes meditative reflections from lay persons about their personal spiritual journeys, as well as readings from diverse traditions that focus on the divine unity of all creation and encourages participation from all seeking to deepen their spiritual journey through shared prayer that seeks to break down barriers between different faith traditions and seekers. Call Pastor Claudia at 707-279-4664 for more information. We are at 3810 Main Street in Kelseyville. Come and you are and leave with a blessing!

Tickets still available for Soroptimist Club’s Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre
The Clear Lake Soroptimist Club is holding it’s 4th annual Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre, “Totally Rad, 80s Prom Gone Bad.” All proceeds from the event stay local and will be used to help girls, women and their families.
Thousands of dollars in cash grants have been given to deserving girls and women to help them pursue educational goals and make a better life for themselves and their families. Most of the girls and women served by the Club are escaping poverty, domestic violence, homelessness and more.
Once homeless, in an abusive relationship and struggling to care for her baby, one recent grant recipient had begun to turn her life around when she received a cash grant from the Clearlake Club to help with school expenses. “Through hard work and dedication I know I can achieve my educational and life goals,” she said upon receiving her grant.
Other recipients have gone on to own businesses – like Jenn Allen-Malinowski, owner of “The Wholly Bowl” in Lakeport who said, “Thanks to my cash award, today, I’m living the dream.”
Your support really does change lives. Join us on Saturday, September 21 at the Clearlake Senior Community Center in Clearlake on 3245 Bowers Avenue. Doors open at 4:30 pm.
There’s still time to get tickets. The $40 ticket price includes dinner, assorted desserts and a prize for the best dressed 80’s Prom couple. To reserve your tickets for the event, call 707-350-9869 or 707-998-1302.
