LAKEPORT
At 3 a.m. on Friday, the Lakeport Police Department responded to a report of an in-progress car theft in the area of 15th and Hartley Street. Upon the officer’s arrival, the officer saw that the vehicle had been abandoned on scene. Thereafter, the police department received numerous reports of vehicles that had also been vandalized and/or tampered with or having items stolen out of them in the surrounding area. During the investigation, officers were able to obtain surveillance footage that showed two male subjects responsible for the acts. We attached the surveillance video links below, along with a photo of graffiti/tagging done to one of the vehicles and are requesting your assistance in helping identify the subjects involved. The total loss to victims is estimated at over $1,500.
If anyone has any information regarding these subjects, please contact the investigating Officer Casey Debolt at (707) 263-5491 ext. 122 or by email at cdebolt@lakeportpolice.org, or officer Joe Medici at ext. 120 or email at jmedici@lakeportpolice.org. You can also send an anonymous message from your cellular device by texting the word TIP LAKEPORT followed by your message to 888777 or by sending us a private message on Facebook.
We would also like to remind everyone that if you see any suspicious activity, please call your local law enforcement agency. Additionally, we would also like to remind everyone to please lock your vehicles at night and to remove any and/or all valuables from your vehicles.

Services at Galilee Lutheran Church
Thanks to those who came out on Saturday night for our monthly Alternative Church Service and Potluck! We use the same lessons as the following Sunday morning and include singing and prayer, but instead of a sermon, we have a spirited discussion of the Biblical relevance in our modern lives. We just had our third monthly service, and will have at least one more on October 20 at 6 pm.
In other news, Pastor Chris DelCol will be filling our pulpit on Sept. 29 in a Lake County Lutheran exchange program. The offering that day will be sent to Lutheran Disaster Relief for the hurricane-ravaged Bahamas (one recent hurricane, and one coming). LDR was good to Lake County during our fires the last couple of years, and this is our chance to pass it forward.
This Sunday at Galilee, Doug Andre will be leading the service.
Join us on Sunday at 10. And at Rocky Point Skilled Nursing Center at 2:45. And on Tuesday’s weekly Bible Study at 7 p.m.
