Martin-O’Neil Cancer Center Hosts Cancer Survivorship Seminar in Middletown

The Martin-O’Neil Cancer Center at Adventist Health St. Helena invites cancer survivors and caregivers to a day focused on survivorship and healing. The Moving Beyond Cancer Survivorship Seminar will be held on October 24 at the Middletown Mansion in Middletown.

Topics at the event include transitioning from surviving to thriving, healthy eating, long-term side-effects of cancer treatment, exercise and more.

“The Moving Beyond Cancer seminar will be an inspiring day of learning and connection with fellow cancer survivors and caregivers,” explains Winters. “A cancer survivor’s health journey is unique, which is why we are honored to support them from diagnosis to treatment and beyond.”

Lunch at Senior Center, Denise Rushing featured speaker.

New Paradigm College is a 501(c)3 non-profit educational institution with a mission to educate a new generation of leaders while creating a more beautiful future for Lake County, CA. It’s a lofty goal dreamed up by some pretty special Lake County citizens who are making it happen! One of them is Denise Rushing who will open our eyes to the wonder that is New Paradigm at this week’s luncheon club.

Lunch will be served by the United Methodist Women on Wednesday, October 16, at noon at the Middletown Senior Center, 21256 Washington Street.  The program will end promptly at 1 p.m.  For only $5 per person, enjoy a meal of beef stroganoff, garden salad, and cottage cheese with fruit. You may also just come and listen to the speaker for free. Everyone is welcome!

Lake County G.O.P. October meeting

The Lake County Republican Party’s October meeting will be at the Round Table Pizza 821 11th Street, Lakeport. 5 to 7 p.m. on October 24.
They will have recall Gavin Newsom petitions there as well as candidate documents for residents/potential voters to sign. Discussion on their 2020 calendar and budget.  Party members noted all Lake County Residents are welcome.

CalFresh Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program replacement benefits and applications

The Lake County Department of Social Services (LCDSS) is able to assist households who experienced food loss due to power outages with CalFresh Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) replacement benefits and applications.  CalFresh replacement benefits are available to households already in receipt of CalFresh who lost food due to power outages.  Expedited CalFresh applications are available to qualified low income households who do not already have benefits.
