KELSEYVILLE — Justin-Siena’s powerful front line led the way to an upset of the No. 3-seeded Kelseyville Knights 25-21, 25-22, 25-18 on Friday night in the opening round of the North Coast Section Division 4 volleyball playoffs at Kelseyville.

No. 14 Justin-Siena (9-13) advances to the quarterfinals on Monday against No. 6 Roseland University Prep in Santa Rosa. Kelseyville, the undefeated North Central League I champion this season, finishes with a 22-6 overall record.

“The girls played tough, but Justin-Siena has an excellent team and a lot of tough hitters,” Kelseyville coach Donelle McCallister said.

Allison Bryant recorded 10 kills for the Knights, Malia Brown had 26 digs, and Alexa Vargas had four aces.

McCallister praised the passing of Brown, Bryant and Meghan Holland.

“The passing game was good tonight,” McCallister said. “It’s disappointing to lose, but the girls played tough to the end and I’m very proud of them.”
