Mendocino-Lake Community College District Accreditation
The Mendocino-Lake Community College District will undergo a regularly scheduled comprehensive evaluation visit in February 2020 by a team representing the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC). Mendocino College is currently accredited by the ACCJC and was last evaluated and reaffirmed in June 2014. This upcoming review coincides with the normal accreditation visit cycle of every six years.
“The accreditation process has been put in place so that we can take a close look at what we do very well for our students and communities and to find areas where we can improve. We want the accrediting team to see the quality work we do and learn how we are meeting the education and training needs of our district,” said Mendocino College Interim Superintendent/President Eileen Cichocki.
The ACCJC works with its member institutions to advance educational quality and student learning and achievement. This collaboration fosters institutional excellence and continuous improvement through innovation, self-analysis, peer review, and application of standards. It is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) as a reliable authority regarding the quality of education offered by the institutions it accredits.
As part of the accreditation reaffirmation process, the public is invited to submit comments about Mendocino College to the accrediting body by completing a third party comment form on the ACCJC website: https://accjc.org/forms/third-party-comments/
A copy of the Mendocino College 2019 Institutional Self-Evaluation Report (ISER) will be available in December 2019 through the college website: https://www.mendocino.edu/college/accreditation. If a member of the community has questions regarding the Mendocino College accreditation process, please contact Debra Polak, Accreditation Liaison Officer at 707-468-3068.

Advent and Christmas Schedule
Sunday Advent Worship @ 10 a.m.
December 8: Matthew 3:1-12 “Toasted Wheat!”
December 15: Matthew 11:2-11 “What are You Looking For?”
December 22: Matthew 1:18-25 “Joseph’s Story”
Sunday, December 8 at 6 p.m. in the evening we’re having a “Blue Christmas.” A quiet, contemplative service for those who struggle during the holidays. We gather to give people a safe space to come as they are to experience God’s love.
Christmas Eve comes in two styles:
6 p.m.: A pageant this year to tell the ancient story of God’s love. Children of all ages (yes, those over 18, too!) will join in the fun as we celebrate Jesus’ birth.
11 p.m.: A quiet late service that will include communion and candlelight. A wonderful and intimate way to recharge and reconnect with God’s love revealed in Jesus.
Sunday Dec. 29. A wonderful Christmas story will be shared. Lots of Christmas Carols and a wonderful time together to celebrate Jesus’ birth.
