ORLAND — Xander Romero secured a fifth-place medal while Jayde Miles brought home a fourth-place medal on Saturday as the Middletown boys and girls wrestling teams sent a handful of competitors to the Orland Tournament.
“It’s one of the top three toughest tournaments I have on my schedule this year,” Middletown coach Brian Hunt said.
Romero went 2-2 at 113 pounds while Miles went 2-3 at 116 pounds.
“Xander wrestled really well against some tough competition,” Hunt said. “He is a pleasure to watch out there. He wrestles hard and he wrestles smart.”
Middletown’s boys return to action Saturday in Castro Valley while the girls travel to Yuba City.
