LAKE COUNTY — Five high school falls sports teams from Lake County — three from Clear Lake and two from Kelseyville — have been honored by the North Coast Section for outstanding academic achievement.
The three schools with the highest cumulative grade points averages (GPAs) in each division of each fall sport are honored by the section.
Ranking first in Division 5 football were the Clear Lake Cardinals at 3.47. Kelseyville’s football team finished second in Division 4 at 3.28, just behind leader St. Bernard’s Academy of Eureka (3.31).
Kelseyville’s volleyball team had the highest GPA (3.89) in Division 4 volleyball and the Knights did quite well on the court as well, going undefeated in league play and clinching a fifth straight North Central League I championship.
Clear Lake’s boys and girls soccer teams each ranked second in Division 1 — the boys with a 3.60 GPA and the girls with a 3.64 GPA. Both qualified for the playoffs.
