
LAKE COUNTY— Various events are taking place this holiday season in celebration of Christmas and in anticipation of the new year. In Lakeport, revelers were treated to a special screening of the holiday classic “The Polar Express” during a pajama party earlier in the week. The 2004 animated classic was directed by Robert Zemeckis and adapted from the book of the same name by children’s author Chris Van Allsburg. More than 250 people visited Anderson Marsh State Historic Park during the 30th annual “Christmas at the Ranch” open house on December 14. Santa was on hand to greet children of all ages, guests sang Christmas carols accompanied by local musicians and were treated to hot drinks and baked goodies, all courtesy of the Anderson Marsh Interpretive Association (AMIA), the non-profit association cooperating with the Department of Parks and Recreation to promote educational activities at the park. In Clearlake. Also on December 14, Kim’s Dance Factory performed at the Clearlake Community Senior Center to bring Christmas cheer to seniors.
