KELSEYVILLE — Elijah Alvarez picked up a pair of wins for the Clear Lake High School wrestling team Wednesday as the Cardinals beat Fort Bragg 51-9 and Kelseyville 54-17 in a Coastal Mountain Conference tri-meet at Kelseyville High School.

Alvarez won by 11-4 decision at 147 pounds against Fort Bragg. He dropped down to 140 pounds against Kelseyville and scored a 4-3 victory.

In other contested weight classes against Fort Bragg, Clear Lake winners were Hayden Fowler by second-round pin at 140 pounds, Vicente Ortega by first-round pin at 154 pounds and Dominic Legendre by first-round pin in the heavyweight division.

Also for Clear Lake, Liam Davis dropped an 8-2 decision at 162 pounds, Ashley Pyorre lost 2-0 at 108 pounds, and Asher Reese fell 2-1 at 115 pounds.

In the Cardinals’ dual with Kelseyville, Clear Lake winners besides Alvarez were Davis by 10-3 decision at 162 pounds, Anthony Gersalia by first-round pin at 172 pounds, and Mavis Pyorre by second-round pin at 128 pounds.

Also for Clear Lake, Zachary Wilcox lost by first-round pin at 147 pounds, Ortega lost by 18-2 technical fall at 154 pounds, and Mohammad Akbari lost by third-round pin at 122 pounds.

Clear Lake travels to Ukiah on Saturday for the Redwood Empire Classic. The Cardinals return home next Wednesday to host Cloverdale in a conference meet. Clear Lake’s seniors will be honored during the final home match of the season.
