LAKEPORT– Enjoy a hella great concert on Saturday, March 23 at 7 pm, featuring top soulful piano masters Barney McClure, Wendy DeWitt, Spencer Brewer and Ricky Nye.  They cover everything from boogie woogie to blues to swing to New Orleans soul.  These award winning artists will be at four pianos across the stage, trading off leading each other, and backed by legendary drummer Kirk Harwood (Norton Buffalo, Roy Rogers) and Pierre Archain on bass.

Barney McClure

McClure has performed and/or recorded with Ernestine Anderson, Mark Murphy, Eddie “Cleanhead” Vinson, Jimmy Witherspoon, Big Joe Turner, Don Shelton, Greta Matassa, and many other world famous musicians. He has backed such notables as Bob Hope, Bob Newhart, Professor Irwin Corey, George Kirby and Steve Allen.

Spencer Brewer

With 17 solo and duet albums to his credit, Brewer has received acclaim for his #1 hit records, “The Pipers Rhythm” and “Dorian’s Legacy”, lodging in Billboards Top 10 chart for 9 months. His music has been featured on Home Alone 2, LA Law, Sex & the City, The Oprah Winfrey Show, NPR, CNN, and over 15 years of Olympic World games. His music was also featured on films such as “Heartwood” with Hillary Swank and Jason Robards.

Ricky Nye (Rick Neiheisel)

Born in Cincinnati in 1956, and bitten by the music bug at the age of five, Nye began his performing career at age twelve with his family’s band.  He has led such bands as Ricky Nye & the Red Hots, Ricky Nye Inc., and Ricky Nye & the Paris Blues Band, and also performs solo or with vocalist extraordinaire, Bekah Williams.  His accolades include Best Blues/R&B Instrumentalist; Best Blues/R&B Artist, and he has been inducted into the International Boogie Woogie Hall of Fame.

Wendy DeWitt

Brought to the blues at the age of ten while growing up over a store in the rural town of Glen Ellen, California, DeWitt’s passion for music led her to Chicago Blues and Texas Boogie Woogie, with influences ranging from Otis Spann, Memphis Slim, and Professor Longhair to Katie Webster and Bessie Smith. Wendy worked for four years with Hank Ballard and the Midnighters, with Charlie Musselwhite, Otis Rush, Big Time Sarah, and for over twenty years with Steve Freund.  DeWitt produces the annual Queens of Boogie Woogie and San Francisco International Boogie Woogie Festival, and performs at many other music celebrations around the world including the Mustique Blues Festival, St. Croix Blues and Heritage Fest, and Les Nuits de Boogie Woogie in Paris.
