LAKEPORT — The start of the Northern California Racing Association 2020 season at the Lakeport Speedway is coming up quick.
An April 18 playday and test-and-tune session will give racing fans their first taste of action from the quarter-mile paved oval at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Lakeport. Twelve points races follow — April 25, May 9, 21, 23-24, June 13, 20, July 3,18, 25, Aug. 15, 22 and Sept. 26. Boat races are May 24, July 25 and Sept. 26.
The Lakeport Speedway hosts the high-powered North State Modified Series twice — May 23 and July 18.
Divisions in 2020 include the modifieds, bombers, Legends Cars, bandoleros, Pro-4 modifieds, 4-bangers and Late Models.
The July 3 show features the Bay Cities Racing Association midgets and vintage midgets as well as a fireworks show.
Legends of the Pacific vist June 20.
Modifieds compete in a 45-lap feature event Aug. 15.
Pits open 10 a.m. on race days, the spectator gate opens at 5 p.m. and racing begins at 6 p.m.
