LAKEPORT—The Full Moonalice THC (Time Has Come) Revue Tour comes to the Soper Reese Theatre on Saturday, April 25 at 7:30 PM. This is a benefit for Lake County Community Radio, KPFZ, 88.1 FM.  Moonalice has been touring for over a decade, and the five member Moonalice band has now added five musicians and morphed into the Full Moonalice Revue.

Iconic Lester Chambers, now 79, lead singer of the 60s Chambers Brothers, and his son Dylan, have joined the Full Moonalice THC Revue, performing some of the classics, including The Chambers Brothers hits “Time Has Come Today” and “People Get Ready,” along with songs like Otis Redding’s “Sittin’ on The Dock Of The Bay,” and the Rolling Stones’ “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.”

Rounding out the now 10 piece band are The T Sisters (Erika, Chloe and Rachel Teitjen), who add a refreshing, sassy and captivating presence. They flow seamlessly between styles and moods with their eclectic sound and soaring harmonies.

The longtime Moonalice band consists of Pete Sears, Jason Crosby, Roger McNamee, Barry Sless and John Molo, a psychedelic, roots-rock band of world-class musicians with many free-form jams.  Band founder Roger McNamee said, “Joining forces with the T Sisters and The New Chambers Brothers allows Full Moonalice to take audiences on a mind bending musical journey through the sounds of the 60s.”   McNamee adds that the band is “carrying on the spirit of the old San Francisco music scene, without slavishly imitating the music. It has elements of the acid trips, without the drugs.”

These five musicians have credentials a mile long.  Legendary rocker Pete Sears is an English rock musician who plays mostly bass with Moonalice. In a career spanning more than four decades, he has been a member of many bands and has played with Rod Stewart, Hot Tuna, Jefferson Starship, Jerry Garcia, Mickey Hart, Bob Weir, Maria Muldaur, Mimi Farina, John Cipollina, Dr. John, John Lee Hooker and Taj Mahal. He has also written and recorded the original score for several documentary films.

“Crazy Fingers” Jason Crosby plays mostly organ and keyboards, and sometimes violin with Moonalice. The multi-instrumental virtuoso has toured and recorded with a who’s who of legendary artists, including Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Pete Seeger, Dave Matthews, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Robert Randolph, Susan Tedeschi and Grateful Dead icons Phil Lesh and Bob Weir. He’s graced the stages of the world’s biggest festivals and has performed on The Tonight Show and at the Grammy Awards.

Barry Sless plays lead guitar and pedal steel guitar, and has played with the David Nelson Band, Rowan Brothers, Phil Lesh, Kingfish, and the Flying Other Brothers.

Drummer John Molo has played with John Forgerty of Credence Clearwater Revival fame, Phil Lesh, Bruce Hornsby, David Nelson and Delaney Bramlett (from Delaney and Bonnie).

Band leader and founder Roger McNamee plays guitar and is the lead vocalist, and has played with the Flying Other Brothers and Doobie Decibel System. He writes some of Moonalice’s original songs, as do Pete Sears, Jason Crosby and Barry Sless.

Ben Fong-Torres, a legendary rock journalist, author, and broadcaster best known for his articles in Rolling Stone and the San Francisco Chronicle, caught the Moonalice show at Slim’s Nightclub in San Francisco in June of 2019, and wrote: “The music was eclectic, surprising, tight and suitable for dancing . . . . and their mix of oldies and originals . . . . got people up and moving to their beat. That beat, rooted in rock but steeped in blues, folk, country and jazz, is driven by a stellar, seasoned lineup.”
