Lower Lake High School senior Shelby Sapeta is closing in on a career milestone as the four-year varsity veteran needs three more strikeouts to reach 500 for her career. Sapeta struck out 15 on Friday in a 14-2 road win over Healdsburg, pushing her career total to 497. Her first opportunity to reach 500 is March 17 at home against Laytonville in a non-league game that begins at 4 p.m. Lower Lake is off to a 2-0 start this season under first-year coach Brett Doud.
