LAKEPORT— Recently the Lake County Fair Foundation hosted its inaugural Wrangler Round-Up Dinner and Fundraiser at the Lake County Fair Little Theater. The event was a huge success with tremendous outpouring of support from our Lake County Community. Approximately 150 guests were present and enjoyed a tasty tri-tip dinner with all of the fixings.
A variety of scrumptious desserts carefully created by local supporters were auctioned off to the highest bidder. Immediately following was a live auction. Extra tri-tip was auctioned off and the ever-popular, “Raise the paddle” generated even more funds for the foundation. A raffle was enjoyed by all and approximately 30 items were donated from businesses and individuals throughout Lake County. Attendees purchased tickets for the raffle and entered them for the items they were interested in winning. Items auctioned and raffled included artwork and gift baskets by local artisans, themed baskets, restaurant gift certificates, house wares, tickets to local attractions, and many other fun items, there was something for everyone. The success of this event would not have been possible without the generous support of donors, guests and volunteers.
At the end of the night, the excitement in the air was palpable! With the generous support of the Lake County Community, funds raised totaled in excess of $30,000. These funds will be directly invested back into the Lake County Fair. Some of the past projects include upgrading the bathrooms in Lewis Hall, new flooring in the Little Theater, new chairs, remodel of The Bob Donley Barn, and facelift to front gate as well as the Annual Ag Days to help educate school children about agriculture. The foundation will be working closely with new fair CEO, Shelli Wright, to identify new projects and areas of need on the fairgrounds.
