LAKEPORT — Three were injured Thursday in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 175, the California Highway Patrol reported.
At about 3:45 p.m. on April 9, Cloverdale resident Faith Eyler was driving west on Highway 175 west of Mathews Road near Lakeport in a 1997 Honda Civic, with Clearlake resident Deanna Lambert in the passenger’s seat. At the same time, Michelle Baldwin was driving a 2006 BMW X5 eastbound on the highway.
According to the CHP, Eyler allowed her vehicle to travel off the road’s northern edge and then “over-corrected her steering,” causing the Honda to cross the double yellow centerline. Eyler’s car continued into the oncoming lane and collided with the front end of Baldwin’s vehicle.
All three parties were wearing seatbelts, but sustained major injuries and were taken by ambulance to Sutter Lakeside Hospital in Lakeport, the CHP said. Drugs and alcohol were not suspected to have played a role in the crash, the CHP added.
