LAKE COUNTY — Three suspects were arrested in Lakeport following reports of burglaries in Kelseyville and Lucerne.
Lakeport resident Chelsea Leann Berry, 27, Nice resident Jason Donavon Harlan, 27, and Clearlake resident Monica Nicole Wright, 26, were arrested Friday and booked into the Lake County Jail on allegations that include burglary during a state of emergency.
On Friday morning, Lake County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a house on Peninsula Drive in Kelseyville after a burglary was reported there, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said. A witness reported having seen three individuals enter the house and leave with a bag of items in a white Dodge with a damaged trunk, the sheriff’s office noted.

While responding to the call, the deputies spotted a car that matched the description given by the witness, heading toward Lakeport on Soda Bay Road. The deputies pulled the Dodge over at a nearby market.

According to the sheriff’s office, the deputies recognized the three occupants as Berry, Harlan and Wright. In addition, all three suspects had been “captured on surveillance video committing a separate burglary earlier in the morning in Lucerne,” the sheriff’s office said.
“Deputies observed a suitcase in the vehicle that had a luggage tag with the address to the residence that had been burglarized on Peninsula Drive,” the sheriff’s office added. “A records check showed Wright had an outstanding misdemeanor arrest warrant and Harlan was on felony probation for possession of stolen property.”

According to the sheriff’s office, when interviewed about the burglaries Berry and Wright admitted to participating in both, while Harlan denied being involved, saying he had just been picked up by Berry.
Items from the Peninsula Drive and Lucerne burglary were located in the Dodge, the sheriff’s office said.
“The items were later identified by the owners and returned. Deputies also located methamphetamine and heroin inside the vehicle. Berry was in possession of methamphetamine and Wright was found to be in possession of heroin during the booking process,” the sheriff’s office added.
All three suspects were transported to the Lake County Jail where they were still detained as of Monday afternoon. Berry’s booking charges include burglary during a state of emergency, possession of stolen property, conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Wright’s charges include burglary during a state of emergency, possession of stolen property, conspiracy, and bringing controlled substance into a correctional facility. Harlan’s charges include burglary during a state of emergency, possession of stolen property, conspiracy, and violation of probation. Berry and Wright’s bails are set at $50,000 and Harlan is on a no bail hold for violation of his probation, the sheriff’s office noted.
