They will go through an entrepreneur’s boot camp at The Lodge at Blue Lakes to strengthen their skill set, which will give them the confidence to successfully develop their idea and launch their business. Quail Fire incident update
CAL FIRE was on the scene of a vegetation fire on Sunday and Monday. Firefighters dealt with windy conditions during Sunday night’s operations. Winds were expected to pick up again during Monday night’s operation. Fire crews are currently performing tactical patrols, constructing containment lines, and mopping up hot spots. According to CAL Fire officials, residential evacuations have been lifted.
According to officials, the fire is located at 8000 block Canyon Road, Solano County, it started at approximately 3:30 PM and was 1,387 acres in size. It was reported 40 percent contained at press time with three structures destroyed and 100 more threatened. Numerous firefighting air tankers from throughout the State were combatting the blaze in addition to 30 engines, nine dozers, seven hand crews, for a total of 600 emergency personnel.

Zip Books program secures extra funds.
The Lake County Library’s grant-funded Zip Books program that delivers books, large print books, and audiobooks to library patrons at home has proven so popular during the COVID19 stay at home order that it has received a grant for additional funding.
You must have a Lake County Library card and a Lake County mailing address to order a Zip Book through the Lake County Library. With your Lake County Library card you can submit Zip Book requests through the Zip Book order form on the library’s website library.lakecountyca.gov under the “Books and More” tab.
If you don’t have a Lake County Library card, you can apply for a temporary library card number and PIN on the library’s website. If you have any questions about Zip Books call 707-263-8817.
The library orders the book from Amazon and the book is delivered to your mailing address. The Zip Book is also checked out on your library card. When you finish reading your book, please return the Zip Book to the library, along with any Amazon paperwork that comes with it.
Zip Books is a state-wide project of the NorthNet Library System, funded by the California State Library. The Lake County Library has participated in Zip Books since 2015.
With a library card, patrons can access the library’s array of digital services without the need to visit a local branch. If you need a library card, you can create an online card with the application form on the library website. If you have a question about an existing library account, call 263-8817 and leave a message. Library staff will be available by phone during normal operating hours to assist with the digital resources. The Lake County Library continues to offer services during the COVID19 stay at home. Contest seeks logos, videos promoting use of facial coverings
LakeCountyMasks.com is sponsoring a contest for logos and videos promoting the use of facial coverings. Winning entries will be posted on the website and social media platforms to help build and maintain support for social distancing and masking in businesses and public places.
Entries can be funny, serious or both. Make them eye-catching, memorable and share-worthy. Logo entries should be “camera ready” with 200 dpi minimum resolution and 4:3 proportions. Video entries can be submitted via link or .mp4 file. Prizes will be awarded only to verified Lake County residents. Children and youth under age 18 must have parent/guardian approval to enter or claim prizes.
There are three prize categories: Best logo, best YouTube video and best TikTok video. Prizes in each category are $100 for first place, $50 for second and $25 for third.
