LAKEPORT — With only one points race under its belt this season, the North State Modified Series won’t run again until Sept. 26 at the Redwod Acres Raceway in Eureka.

Because of the no-spectators COVID-19 mandate from the state of California regarding auto races held during the pandemic, both the Madera Speedway and Stockton 99 Speedway have postponed NSMS races that were scheduled to take place Saturday in Madera and again Sept. 5 at Stockton. Madera promoter Kenny Shepherd and Stockton promoter Tony Noceti said they will attempt to reschedule the races later this fall.

The next event for NSMS, which is presented by Protect the Harvest, is the McMurray and Sons Roofing Challenge Sept. 26 in Eureka where the top 20 drivers receive a $200 bonus courtesy of owner Dave McMurray. In addition, the top 15 in points receive tow money from Lucas Oil and Protect the Harvest. The event pays $1,000 to the winner of the 60-lap feature event.

Redwood Acres Raceway is located at the Redwood Acres fairgrounds on Harris Street in Eureka.
