UPPER LAKE>> Dr. Giovanni Annous, Superintendent at Upper Lake Unified School District and Dr. Radie Lynn Krueger, English teacher at Upper Lake High School, discussed on Tuesday how to prevent students from touching the large photo collage of “students of the year” hanging on one of the school’s walls. Annous and Krueger go over what size plexiglass should cover the photos Tuesday in anticipation of students’ return to school on Wednesday. According to school officials, a total of 840 students  enrolled for instruction with approximately 55 percent of students opting for distance learning. School staff and crews, including Annous, have 15,000 surgical disposable masks on hand and at the end of each week, new ones will be given out. Crews also worked on plexiglass shields that will be placed in the classrooms for the protection of staff, teachers and students.

—Editor’s note: This story has been corrected from an earlier version to reflect the total numbers of students enrolled including distance learners at Upper Lake Unified Schools.
