LAKEPORT>> Residents from Clearlake Marina Mobile Home Park in Lakeport, the vast majority 65-year-old seniors and disabled persons including people from all walks of life like retired police officers, retired nurses and veterans, staged a protest Monday in front of Lakeport City Hall and the Historic Courthouse Museum calling attention to increased rents after an out of town corporation recently bought out the park. Residents at the protest, most of them on social security and fixed income, said they are asking for Lakeport’s City Council to help them. The residents said the corporation is using “scare tactics to increase their rent two to three times the established amount.”
