
LAKE COUNTY — Allison Bryant’s 16 kills on 24 arm swings propelled the Kelseyville Knights to another North Central League I championship nearly a year ago today as they rolled past the host Middletown Mustangs 25-16, 25-13, 25-15 in varsity volleyball action.

Volleyball
Kelseyville improved to 13-0 with its sweep in the best-of-five-set match and would go on to finish undefeated in the NCL I standings.
Bryant, a senior, had no hitting errors on the night while putting the finishing touches on what would be her third straight league most valuable player award. Teammate Kalee Ellis added 10 more kills while setter Paige Bour had a big night with 18 assists and five aces.
Bella Dubois led Middletown with eight kills while Abbey Brown had four kills and five digs.
In other NCL I action, Clear Lake snapped a six-game league losing streak with a 25-14, 25-15, 25-13 road victory against the Willits Wolverines. The Cardinals received strong play from outside hitter Shaelyn McIntire, back row specialist Cady Harmon and libero Raina Clifton while improving to 4-9 in the league standings.
Upper Lake also picked up a win in NCL II play, turning back the Tomales Braves 25-23, 25-14, 22-25, 26-24 at Upper Lake. The Cougars, playing their final home match, honored seniors Seneca Snow, Colene Pulido-Doyle, Madison Hicks, Alana Sanchez and Maria Wade with bouquets of flowers, balloons, picture plaques and cardboard cutouts of their faces.
