Scott De Leon holds up his Coach of the Year plaques after leading the Clear Lake Cardinals to back-to-back 27-win seasons in 2018-19 and 2019-20. De Leon announced his retirement from coaching following the Cardinals’ 27-5 campaign this past season. He is one of only a handful of Lake County coaches to win consecutive Coach of the Year awards, which are presented to the top boys and girls coaches following each high school season. He is standing next to wife Melody. The Cardinals will open their 2020-21 season in mid-March with former assistant and new head coach Mike Damiata at the helm. (Photo by Brian Sumpter)
