
LAKEPORT — Randy McAbee Jr. and Mason McAbee used a strong finish Saturday to win the 2020 American Bass/Ranger Boats North Team Classic on Clear Lake.
Tournament headquarters was the Skylark Shores Motel in Lakeport.
The McAbees brought the big bag to the scales on day two, a five-fish limit of 22.51 pounds, to claim the overall championship with 42.20 pounds. They jumped eight places in the standings after Friday’s opening round when they were ninth overall with a five-fish limit of 19.69 pounds
The victory in the 65-team field earned the McAbees a Ranger bass boat, Mercury outboard engine and Lawrence electronics prize package.

Second place with 40.50 pounds went to Jerod Adams and David Boettger, who jumped five places in the standings on Saturday. They earned $4,374 for their runner-up finish.
First-round leaders Jerry Davis and Tanner Kuhnle ended up third in the overall standings with 40.26 pounds. They stood alone atop the standings after Friday’s opening round with 24.09 pounds, including a 7.73-pounder as part of their five-fish limit. They earned $3,602.
Don Johnson and Gary Lancaster came in fourth with 39.39 pounds and took home $1,000 while Mark Crutcher of Lakeport and partner Brad Amodeo placed fifth other with 38.53 pounds. They pocketed $1,424.
Placing sixth through 10th were Gerry Johnson and David Homen, sixth overall with 38.12 pounds ($1,000); Joe Hinkle and Glen Lockhart, seventh overall with 37.94 pounds ($1,500); Donny Biagi and Robert Reid, eighth overall with 37.86 pounds ($3,020); Nick Salvucci and Jared Lintner, ninth overall with 36.96 pounds ($1,000); and Todd Reccord and Mike Maddux, 10th overall with 36.67 pounds ($1,200).

The big fish of the tournament, which weighed in at 8.33 pounds and was caught on Friday, went to the eighth-place team of Biagi-Reid.
The tournament paid down to 14 places.
Bryan McGeoch of Lakeport received a plaque for being named the American Bass Northern Cal Region 2020 Angler of the Year. McGeoch and partner Randy McGeoch placed 27th overall with 31.39 pounds.
