Lower Lake High School senior Vann Wilkins should be looking back on a great high school career at this point on the calendar, but instead the record-setting quarterback for the Trojans is still waiting for the 2020 season, which will be played in 2021 if at all, to take place because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The start of the 2020 season was originally pushed back from August to early December, and now it has been moved again to sometime in January at the earliest because of the recent spike in coronavirus cases in the state. Wilkins, who most recently participated in a voluntary Lower Lake team workout on Monday, passed for a Lake County single-season record of 2,807 yards in 2019 while leading the Trojans into the North Coast Section playoffs. Lower Lake was expected to be a top league contender again this season. (Photos by Bob Minenna)
