You have to do something to keep your sanity during these COVID-19 times and a group of Clear Lake football players, both past and present, met Wednesday afternoon for an unofficial workout on the school’s practice field. The seven did a pretty good job of social distancing, at least as much as a contact sport such as football allows. The fall sports season has twice been delayed by the California Interscholastic Federation and the hope is that the season can still be salvaged, though time is running out. If the California Department of Public Health can provide safety guidelines in the next few weeks, practices in the sports of football, volleyball, soccer and cross country could begin as soon as next month. Winter and spring sports are slated to begin at the same time in mid-March, which leaves precious little time for the fall sports to complete their schedules.
