Lighted Holiday Decorating Contest

The Lakeport Main Street Association and the City of Lakeport are sponsoring the 2020 Lighted Holiday Decorating Contest open to businesses and residents with a Lakeport address.

Entry forms are available here or in person at the Lakeport Main Street Association Office, 140 N. Main Street, Lakeport. The last day to enter the contest is Sunday, December 20, at 5 p.m.

A map showing the locations of all entries will be made available at 8 a.m. on Friday, December 11, at lakeportmainstreet.com.

People’s Choice voting will start at 8 a.m., Friday, December 11, and go through 5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 23. Winners will be announced on Thursday, December 24.

Transportation Outreach Survey available in Spanish and English

The Lake County/City Area Planning Council (APC) is currently updating the region’s Coordinated Public and Human Services Transportation Plan. This plan facilitates funding and serves as a guide to promote and advance social service transportation.

The APC is encouraging the community to provide input on the plan and share information on social service transportation needs in Lake County.

Participation in the survey is important to help identify transportation needs and is completely voluntary. The survey is available in both English and Spanish language versions and will be accessible until Dec. 11, 2020.

Library reducing people inside to help slow COVID spread

The library is reducing the number of people allowed inside at one time in order to help slow the spread of the coronavirus here in Lake County, but we will continue to be open our normal operating hours for in-person service. We are asking our patrons to please limit the amount of time they spend in the library to ensure equal access and to continue to adhere to the following rules:

• Patrons with COVID-19 symptoms are not allowed inside.
• Face masks covering the nose and mouth are required.
• Social distancing of at least 6 feet is required.
• Sanitize your hands frequently.
• Please return all items in outside book drops.

We are also offering contactless service to patrons who aren’t able to wear a mask, just phone your local branch before you visit.

City of Lakeport’s Fall 2020 Street Sweeping Schedule.

City of Lakeport weekly street sweeping schedule: The schedule affects areas inside the Lakeport city limit boundaries.

MONDAYS: Clearlake Avenue to north City Limit boundary.

TUESDAYS: First Street to south City limit boundary including the Esplanade neighborhood, Lupoyoma Heights, Lakeport Boulevard, and Parallel Drive.

WEDNESDAYS: Second Street to Clearlake Avenue.

THURSDAYS: Main Street and Downtown area.

FRIDAYS: Streets that were missed and any areas needing special attention. (Every other Friday we will not be running the street sweeper).

Blowing leaves into the street is acceptable, but please do not put them in piles as the street sweeper cannot sweep up piles of leaves. We encourage residents to utilize their weekly green waste service
The street sweeper will not operate on December 25 through January 11, 2021.

This schedule is provided for the City of Lakeport and will remain in effect for the fall. This schedule is provided for the City of Lakeport and will remain in effect for the fall season only. Our sweeper also operates on an “as needed” basis at other times to maintain City streets when leaves and debris accumulate.

Please be advised that there may be minor interruptions to the schedule from time to time due to City workloads and availability of manpower.
