Kelseyville High School 2020 graduate and Catawba College student-athlete Allison Bryant receives her $500 scholarship check after being named the Lake County Record-Bee’s Athlete of the Year for the 2019-20 sports season. Catawba College, which is located in North Carolina, didn’t have an indoor volleyball season this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but the spring outdoor season is still on, according to Bryant, who starred in volleyball and basketball at Kelseyville. Of the 10 Athlete of the Year finalists in 2019-20, the two winners — Bryant and Clear Lake’s Travis Howe — receive $500 scholarships while the eight other finalists each receive $250.
