LAKEPORT— (Left to right:) District 1 Supervisor Moke Simon, District 4 Supervisor Tina Scott and incoming District 5 Supervisor Jessica Pyska are sworn in by Maria Valadez, Lake County registrar of voters, during a ceremony in front of the Lakeport Courthouse on Monday. Pyska is a former member of the Cobb Area Council. The election of Chair of the BOS and Vice-Chair of the board for 2021, conducted by board chair Simon, was scheduled as part of Tuesday’s first meeting for 2021. Appointments for various county commissions and boards were also on the agenda as is customary for this time of year. County government will be faced with ongoing challenges this year including COVID recovery for businesses, ongoing fire risk reduction and zoning for cannabis and hemp.
