The year 2000 brought much chaos to the world we know, but it also contained so many beautiful people gathering together to help others in many ways. Such beauty can be found in Lake County’s own millennium baby Skylar McCabe.
Skylar was born in Lake County in 2000 and turned 21 on New Year’s day. She is one of seven siblings and has danced her way into many hearts. According to her mother Belinda, as a toddler Skylar always walked on her tippy toes and her mom always knew she would be a ballerina.
She progressed in life becoming a tap and ballet dancer. Her talents of dancing followed her into her high school years, performing in many shows that her mother said definitely demonstrated her natural talent. Dancing turned to cosmetology and modeling and creating blogs to help others in fashion and make up techniques. Skylar graduated from Show Low High School in Arizona and attended the Northern Arizona Vocational Institute of Technology through Northland Pioneer College.
Skylar went on to become an online business owner. The name of her internet business is “Celestia Jewelry and Accessories.” He mother said dancing will always have its place in her heart and modeling will always be a dream as Skylar is just a natural in the camera’s lens. Belinda noted that Skylar reaches out in many ways to help others because it’s also her heart’s desire. Whether it be free haircuts, food for the homeless or helping in Church as a child, she’s seen needs and tried to help. If asked, Skylar would say “I’m just a small town girl with big city dreams and these are steps as I follow my dreams”.
