The week of January 4-11 consisted of a busy start to the new year in terms of the news cycle. Lake County residents wrapped up the holiday season and most got back to work with the looming threat of COVID-19 still hanging over every aspect of daily life. However, county and state health officials expressed optimism with the roll out of vaccines. Dr. Gary Pace, health officer stated those 75 years and older and some essential workers will receive the vaccine next, with the goal of getting this done by next week. Local government also got back to business as members of the Board of Supervisors were sworn in for new terms and appointments to committees and boards are ongoing.
