EUREKA — When the North State Modified Series returns to action for the 2021 season, drivers will be competing for the biggest first-place prize in series history on Sept. 25 in Eureka.

On that day, the Redwood Acres Raceway, which is one of the regular stops for NSMS, is hosting the Dale Baldwin Challenge sponsored by McMurray and Sons Roofing. Along with a record-setting $5,000 slice of the overall purse going to the winner, the payouts to other top finishers in the main event include $2,500 for second place, $1,500 for third, $1,200 for fourth and $1,000 for fifth.

Rounding out the payouts for the top-10 main event placers are $500 for sixth place, $400 for seventh, $300 for for eighth, $250 for nine, and $200 for 10th.

NSMS ran a shortened schedule in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Kyle Tellstrom won the series points championship and will be back to defend his title this year. The complete 2021 season schedule will be released soon.

NSMS is presented by Protect the Harvest and Lucas Oil.
