The writing on the back of this Kelseyville player’s T-shirt pretty much sums up the COVID-19 pandemic of the past year. The Knights, who had most of their 2020 season canceled because of the coronavirus outbreak, were back on Lloyd Larson Field on Wednesday afternoon. While high school baseball and softball teams in the state are allowed to hold workouts at this time, actual game play won’t begin until Lake County graduates from purple to red on the state’s COVID-19 color-coded tier scale for sports participation. At that point they would join purple-tier sports that already have been cleared to play such as cross country, tennis, golf and track and field. Kelseyville was six games into its 2020 season when its season stopped in mid-March. (Photos by Brian Sumpter)
