LAKE COUNTY— It took a collective community effort with more than 50 people including neighbors and visiting volunteers working alongside multiple emergency crews and first responders to find 12-year-old Austin Maloney on Monday. “The Lake County Sheriff’s Office would like to say thank you to all the volunteers that dedicated their time and resources to help find Austin,” posted LCSO officials via social media. “Thank you to Mendocino Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue, Volunteers from Lake County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue, Cal Fire personnel and helicopter, South Lake Fire personnel, KCorps and Lake County Central Dispatch. Special thanks to Cobb Mountain Pizza for donating pizza, and the kind people from Middletown School district for donating snacks and water. An extra special thank you to Mendocino SAR member Lisa Holcomb for bringing in her tracking dog, Guardian, and the land owner who donated his property for the command post. It is truly great to see the community come together and dedicate themselves to help a family in need.” These are images captured by photographer Bob Minenna, on the scene of the search and rescue Command Center in South Lake County.
