Things aren't back to normal yet because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but if you're looking for a sure sign that we're headed in the right direction, check out the high school sporting scene where baseball, softball, golf, tennis and fall sports holdover cross country (Middletown's Erica Kinsel, left, and Maya Leonard pictured) are taking place right now with limited restrictions. No, it's certainly not the spring of 2019 when no one had heard of COVID, but it's also not 2020 when everyone had. Track will join the spring sports lineup once cross country wraps up its season in a couple of weeks.
